Adele comes out in support of ECB's 100 format, and reveals that her debut single "chasing pavements" is inspired by her lost passion in cricket....

"As a kid I used to love cricket, but then I went to Lords in 2004 with my dad and mum and watched Mark Richardson score a 100, and that all changed. With every forward prod a part of me died, and that inspired me to convey my feelings in song. Yet, I accidentally flicked onto Sky as Buttler was batting yesterday, and that dilscoop he played in the first over made me think as a young mum, maybe I am missing something"

Adele would go on to say that the albums title, "19", was in reference to Mark Richardson's batting strike rate.
