Nepal have claimed ODI status for the first time with their six-wicket win over Papua New Guinea.

I watched the Human Planet this week, set in the Himalayas. There was a family who walked for eight days along an ice river to get to school. The young boy was playing cricket in his garden at the start of the programme. Perhaps the most remote location anyone has held a bat.

Congrats to Nepal! Don't know how many games they will play against major opposition, but good on them for making the step up
