It strikes me that England, like Australia, are the least dependent on 2 or 3 very influential players and actually have a squad of players who can be interchanged without weakening the side too much, so the trick now is to close the gap on Australia and I think fielding is the way to close that gap

Meg Lanning hit her 14th ODI century today as Australia beat New Zealand.

No player, of any gender, has taken fewer innings (82) to reach that total.

That's s big call ,DFM...I reckon they've both bowled pretty well in these matches. Perhaps Sarah has been more successful with the wickets (haven't rechecked the figures) but Sophie has a bit of an aura which helps her generally put the brakes on sharply ; and I think she has tended to bowl - very effectively - in the key periods. In any case they are a fine pair to have available !

Great game today between South Africa and Pakistan. After SA put on a round 200, Pakistan nearly pulled away from a bad start and ended up needing a four off the final ball....which they did not achieve. Shabnim Ismail was the star for SA with figures of 3-42

Diana Baig is the Paul Stirling of women's cricket.

Was the best performer for a side that lost all three ODIS....but got career best figures of 4-30 today and ended up as the tournament's leading wicket taker with 9 @ 13.22.

South Africa are one match away from making it a 7 match series streak against Pakistan after they beat them in the penultimate T20 today.

Shabnim Ismail brought her fine ODI form to the shortest format with a fivefer today as South Africa defended their total of 133. She got T20 career best figures of 5-12.

The final game is o Wednesday.

Was a reversal of fortune today. South Africa have won all the previous matches in this tour despite Pakistan having the strongest bowler. Today Pakistan won but it was a South African bowler who impressed. Nondumiso Shangase got a threefer and stopped Pakistan getting much over a par score of 127-6. South Africa started the chase poorly and were well behind on DLS when rain came.

Pakistan are now off to play in Zimbabwe.

A very evenly uneven start to South Africa's tour of India. After being annihilated in the first ODI, India were the annihilators this time out.

India bowled South Africa out for 157 with Jhulan Goswami returning figures of 4/42. India then got to that total in just over half the allocated overs.

The next match in the five match series is on Friday.

3-18 by Katie McGill was enough to help Scotland to a low scoring victory over Ireland.

Scotland only put on 87 in their 20 but they then got regular wickets to limit Ireland to 76 all out.

SA emerging women won by 69 runs in the final match of the series.

Anneke Bosch starred with the bat (109 off 100) as the ladies claimed the final ODI, winning the series 5-0

Zimbabwe were nowhere near the total of 238 but at least they managed to bat the full fifty overs this time out.
