What with the earlier IPL this year; I wonder if any County Championship teams will be sniffing round Shubman this year?
Surely decent prospect and could boost his India Test team chances

In tests Rohit and Mayank are first choice. Prithvi will be a backup opener.
Shubman will find it tough to make playing 11 this year.
Pujara at 3 also means Shubman will have to wait longer to bat in top order . Too much competition there.

Equaled the record for most number of runs scored (360) by any batsman in 3 match ODI series ever. Came against New Zealand. Just realized he is averaging 73 in ODI format with sr of 109. Only rare batsmen have scored a 200 even against lesser teams and more so against a quality fielding unit like NZ who make the batsmen run hard for every run.
Would be interesting to see how he does against Australian team which will be playing a Test series in India next month.
Needs to improve his game in T20i format (strike rate) as we saw even in IPL over the years as well as T20i bilaterals.
I am very confident that he will establish himself as core batsman of playing 11 in two formats atleast by next year. He has already owned up ODI format this month doing something which very few have done in entire career. There will be ups and down with him, but his growth path is on right track now. He is 23 and i expect he will play long long time for India Seniors Team. The shin injury did trouble him in last few years but after the surgery one expected him to make a significant progress. I hope he will bat better in test format as well in coming times. The only skeptical part is his T20i batting- a format which he is not as suited to at this point of time.

It's a shame that Shubman was not part of playing 11 in 1st test versus Australia. He should have been in 1st test ahead of Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Selection blunder.

Could probably be his best IPL season thus far if he goes on past 500 runs.

800+ runs thus this IPL with probably another innings to bat if GT makes finals by winning todays match.
3 IPL tons this season. The only issue with his batting in T20 was that his strike rate was less. He has taken care of that in T20i as well as IPL in recent few months.

What a fantastic innings. So elegant. He is all ready for the WTC against Australia. So is Green after his 100. Wondered who got him out the most in Tests

Won't be easy to score runs as the match is in England and pace bowlers will get something out of the conditions and wicket than they were in IPL. Still it's always nice though to see 23 year Shubman who has more talent and get a chance over a average batsman like KL Rahul getting a long rope in test format. He needs to be stuck with irrespective of runs he scores in final. He will never be in class of Sachin, might even not make it to Virat level imo because he does not possess their immaculate fitness levels and also because he has started international cricket late as compared to Sachin and does not has the same fitness as Sachin and Virat had to serve at international level for more than 20 years. However, he seems like he will be better than Chet, Saurav and VVS as all round batsman across all format. A player who will serve Indian cricket with much better success than many others in current and ex Indian cricket team.

Badly prepared although those Indian players who will be taking field will be match-fit due to IPL and training sessions etc. Aussies are favorites imo. Most Australian test match team players are away from IPL and they will be glad that Indian team was busy playing T20.

Had a decent tournament considering he was ill and down with Dengue. However, he is showing trends of other Indian batting superstars. Has not posted good scores in finals he has represented India in major trophies. Just like Rahul, SKY and Virat and Rohit.
