Time to think about changes in Indian cricket post the loss in WC final.

1983, 2011 at home were top moments. Now this (2023 at home) was the best chance.

Lost Test championship finals.

No major trophy win since 2011 WC. Not even in T20i cup.

This was India's best chance in ages, they played magnificently right from the word go, but were not at the races for the biggest of the 11 matches

commiserations to them. It feels like a few of this team won't be around in 4 years time..... unless they adopt the England approach, of course, but we know how that went

SKY should be dropped first. Waste of a spot in ODI and Test.

In spite of being seniormost player for Mumbai has never played a major role in Mumbai winning Ranji trophy. Does not has the game for big matches and lengthy formats. Players like Darryl Mitchell, Maxwell, Stoinis, Jos Buttler , Miller who come low down the batting order in ODI have scored hundreds.

Usable only for 20 overs. Otherwise he is rubbish pick, more so at the age of 33+ at which he should be playing like a senior pro.

The sad thing is that he might be there because of Mumbai lobby which is very strong. Rohit, Shreyas, Shardul and Surya are four Mumbai players in the squad. Shardul and Surya shouldnt be there but they may remain until Mumbai lobby finds another two Mumbai cricketers to replace those 2 with.
Plus Rohit is ODI caltain. Both are from Mumbai and also play for same IPL team i.e. Mumbai Indians. So we may continue to see him for more time.

Prithvi Shaw needs to sort out his fitness issues and work ethics in nets. There is a massive talent gap between Prithvi and Shreyas (very vulnerable to short ball). But Prithvi hs his own technical problems.

Like Rohit at his peak is better than Virat at his peak, Prithvi at his peak is better than Shreyas at his peak. Prithvi is someone who can score a double hundred in ODI. Shubman and Ishan Kishan did as well from the new lot. But we expect Mumbai players (like Sachin and Rohit) to score those big knocks.

SKY needs to be dropped.

KL Rahul, Siraj, Sir Jadeja.

2011 was so much about Yuvi the all rounder. Sir Jadeja massivel better with ball in comparison to Yuvi who was easily one of the best ODI batsmen for few years. Sir Jadeja failed to do what Indian fans expected from him wrt to Yuvi's role. Home conditions, tremendous experience at intetnational level. Next best Indian all rounder after Kapil Dev. Performance not upto expectations.

With regards to batting lineup.....There was a time when Rohit, Virat, Shikhar and Rahul could have been dropped and a new team be built. They dropped Shikhar out of those and left others as it is. Now, with this loss, the Indian selectors should build a new team by getting rid of Rohit, Virat, Rahul, SKY and Jadeja from batting lineup. This won't happen as superstars have multi year contract with sponsors. They need to flash the logos until there sponsorship contracts with multiple brands end. Player Management franchisees affiliated with this players have their own agenda, not necessarily in interest of the team as a whole.

The likes of Sunny wont criticise. They have been managed well by BCCI.

We will win few bilarerals and IPL will come. This shambolic performance at home in finals will be forgotten soon.

Rahul Dravid needs to be sacked. This rebuilding should have been done before, during the time when Virat, Rohit, Shikhar and Rahul were expected to be dropped and we have a team for future. he stuck with them, showed bias in some cases and has failed to get the result even in massively favorable conditions. 4 years lost - 2 years under Rahul's tenure as head coach. Both Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid had teams of their choice yet could not win a major trophy. Kumble too previously.

Just changing coaches who show bias is not going to help, the selection committee which shows bias in keeping superstar players with sponsor support also needs to be changed. Quota system was long abolished within Indian cricket, but the selectors are finding sublime ways to still keep that trend going. The new selection committee makes same crap statements which have hinted it is going to be same old story. The whole system is in same state as it was since we were young. The only thing that has changed is Indian cricket has loads of money to dictate terms like other boards did when they were financially strong and the pace bowling attack is much better which is negated in the drawback that the batting quality of FAB4 is no more seen .

With the resources that India has in cricketing environment and the number one sport here, we should be achieving what Australian cricket teams has been achieving consitently.

Rishbah Pant is the major loss for this Team India. Srikhar Bharat has been awful in whatever opportunities he has got with the bat. Feels like waste of spot thus far.

How good is Jasprit Bumrah? The guy is ridiclously good in all formats! Could watch him bowl all day long, especially with the older ball! So glad his back problem seems to have passed and he can just get on with bowling

He has been a welcome change to Indian pace bowling talent. Clearly better than Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath imo. How was his speed like in this series, was it same to what it was before getting injured or is it understandably going to take time to be back like before gradually.
