Finally good to see 430/4 declared, one of the wicket being Kuldeep the specialist bowler and 98 overs batted. Still hoping to see an innings from this lineup where we score 600 or bat 150 to 180 overs.

Sarfaraz has been a strong performer in FC and has contributed runs in highest level as well. So the start has been quite good for him.

Rajat Patidar so far has been as useless as Srikar Bharat - i guess Rajat will make way when Virat or KL returns for next series. Even Axar is a batting upgrade although he is a batting all-rounder. Ideally KL should be dropped and another youngster should be groomed for middle order spot.


Given the way Yashasvi has performed in test format , imo he has established as the all-format opener for India. Will be interesting to see how he does in SENA (SA, Eng, NZ and Aus) in test format.

Indian Thinkthank needs to be given The "Khel Ratna" award for taking a great decision of resting a fully fit Jasprit Bumrah who has bowled some match winning spells in this high profile 5 test series against England.

After all it is important that he is kept injury free so that he can play all matches in IPL which seems to be more important to BCCI.

Yashasvi- excellent performance in series. Shubman - acceptable. Dhruv - Find of the series as Yashasvi and Shubman were anyways expected to be talented. Sarfaraz too was expected to score more runs than Dhruv Jurel. Dhruv has surpassed expectations and he could be a new find. Nice keeping and clutch innings.

A series in SENA will throw more light on this young batsmen.

Ranji Trophy final : Mumbai versus Vidarbha

Vidarbha won the toss and opted to bowl first

Too much to expect from the swing which is there for 6 overs or so at start of the match at Wankhede. This could backfire in the most important match of Indian domestic level.

Mumbai are 32/6 against Vidarbha fighting for Ranji Trophy win. Good that Mumbai have won the toss as the match is at Wankhede.

Prithvi is top scorer with 46. Ajinkya and Shreyas, the big stars at this level, have flopped with 7 each. Shams Mulani can certainly bat and Shardul scored a 100 last match. Dhaval Kulkarni can hold the bat as well at this level. Tushar Deshpande also scored a 100 against Baroda couple of matches back. He is No 11. So 250 is still possible if they bat well. Apart form Umesh Yadav who extracts reverse swing the best in Indian conditions, there is not much to worry about the opposition bowling atleast on this day 1 pitch.
