Thinking about the WC and what team I would select heading towards it (rather than the team I think they will select!) ...

Rohit
Dhawan
Kohli
Prithvi
Pant
Kedhar
Pandya
Jadeja/Kuldeep/Chahal
Bhuvi
Kuldeep/Chahal/Shami
Bumrah

Probably with Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik and a seamer as backup to the 13 above

Relative unknown Sayan Ghosh got a fiver in a T20 match between Bengal and Gujarat today - including three in an over.

Still only 26. Could be one to keep an eye out for.

Watched both games of the Karnataka Premier League today and wondered how any of the players who make a decent fist of it find their route into the IPL - I presume the eventual Nirvana for this sort of player.

In the first game of the day an ex-IPL player, Vinay Kumar was the man of the match for me with 81 off 51 balls. At 35 years old his time is done, however their was a guy called Arjun Hoysala for Shivamogga in the second game who bagged 69 off 39 balls as an opener who would look at home in the IPL. Only 29 ....but how does he force his agenda? Only played one first class game but he is his team's top run scorer in the comp with 204 runs from 6 games.

This tournament has peaked my interest as it is a fun balance between lesser known Indian youngsters and old IPL players.

Chidhambaram Gautam never got a game in the IPL despite the fact he was in the squads of Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, but at the age of 33, looked another class for Bellary vs Belagvi as he marched to 97*.

From what I can ascertain, Bellary are now straight through to the finals with Belagvi getting another crack verus the losers from tomorrow's game between Hubli and Shivamogga.

Dibbly dobbly bowler. Mostly bowls below 125kph in T20 format. That was a good spell - watched those 3 wickets in an over.

Good to know, MIB.

How well publicised/attended are these games in India?

Hubli seem the team to beat at the moment - but they still need to win another game to get to the final.

Was the turn of an unknown to shine today. After Hubli posted 190, Mitrakanth Yadav chipped away to finish with 3-18 from his 4 overs.

Hubli go on to play Belagvi.

Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy which was previously inter-state zonal T20 trophy is considered and is actually second best as far as Indian donenestic T20 tournaments are considered. The difference is unlike IPL some SMA trophy matches start at 10:30 a.m. IST and some as 1:30 p.m. IST. as well. Some SMA matches start at 6 p.m. There are so many matches that it is not possible to televise all matches because there are as many as 37 teams . But still 2 matches per day get televised. Crowds are comparable to test matches in Dubai - few hundred spectators.

Every state has its own T20 tournament as well. Even some cities have own TWO tournaments with some IPL players. For example Mumbai T20 league has Shiva Disney, Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad, Shreyas Iyer. However it is not televised.

Televised tournaments are IPL, Tamil Nadu Première league and Karnataka Premiere league.

Currently on Hotstar, 45,000 people are watching the ongoing match between Hubli Tigers and Belagavi Panthers.. Hubli Tigers are well placed so far in the qualifier . If they so then they play finals with Bellary Tuskers.

What's the story with Saurabh Kumar?

Got a fourfer for UP today v Saurashtra.

18 months to a year ago he was next big thing and did well in the Duleep .....now......all quiet. I know India's bowling attack is kind of settled but could he force agenda?

In recent two years following spinners have been given chances in A teams playing FC and LIST A format: AxarPatel, Washington Sundar, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem, Krunal Pandya, Mayank Markande and Rahul Chahar.

Then there are spinners like Ashwin, Jaddu, Chahal and Kuldeepwhoplay most of internationals.

Breaking the Indian spin attack is astougher as it has always been. Another factor imo is that as he is not an IPL pick, i doubt he will be considered for LIST A matches of A team. It's a huge challenge in front of him.

I have watched him in Ranji match only once last year. He is slower through air when compared to other SLA bowlers like Jaddu,Shahbaz and Axar. Only Kuldeep bowls in low 80's majorly.

I missed mentioning Shreyas Gopal in the list of A team spinners. All rounder Jalaj Saxena who bowls spin was also a part of A team .

All the press was about Cameron Green in that Indians vs Australia A game, but Rahane quietly went about being outstanding as normal. One of world cricket's most under-rated.

A very very sad day in Indian cricket today. Batting innings bundled for 36 in test. Unbelievable.
