Felt sorry for a young Afghanistan batsmen today.

Khost were playing Kandahar today in a 50-over game and batted second.

Kandahar has set them 245 runs.

Opener Emal got 138 runs and the other ten batsmen got 75 between them - with 5 getting ducks.

Be looking for a transfer if I were him?

Another Afghanistan star in the offing?

Mohammad Sabir is a 16 year old wicketkeeer batsman who has got 122 and 93 in his first two list A games.

Weirdly he has done better since being promoted form the Under 16s league which bodes well.

A Najeeb Tarakai led Nangahar won the Afghanistan 50 over competition against Kabul today.

Chasing 273, Tarakai bagged 121 in 90 balls to make the job easier for his side. His 9 sixes in an innings was the most in this year's competition.

The last time I posted on this thread it was to praise Tarakai. Today he died after sustaining injuries in a car crash last week. He had been placed in a medical coma but took a turn for the worse over the last 48 hours.

A problem with the credibility of Afghanistan cricket when the Test team loses by 546 runs to... Bangladesh.

Wonder if the recent political changes have altered the effectiveness of the team, and also its practicality as an opponent.
