Been keeping a bit of a closer eye on Bangladesh's domestic league; what with our pal Abdur Razzak doing so well in the All Year competition.

Been genuinely impressed with the quality of the tournament. Lot of current, ex and soon to be internationals in the sides.

Barisal Div and Dhaka Met played out an entertaining draw this week with one time Bangladesh player Fazle Mahmud showing his class with a 141 in the first innings and 75 in the second. Mahmud is the 9th highest run scorer in the competition with 336 - an average of 42. He has also been selected for the Rangpur outfit for the forthcoming BPL.

Wiled/Frittered some time away watching a match in the intra-squad tournament between three all-international sides.

The slow bowlingof Mohammad Saifuddin proved too much for the Najmul XI - however rain intervened and handed them an unexpected win even though they posted just 165. Saifuddin got 5-26 and now has the second most in the tournament.

What do you do with a problem like Bangladesh?

Shanto is now captain, he's an attacking captain always looks to have slips in place always encouraging the bowlers to attack and look for wickets. The fast bowlers are improving there's a new batch on the scene and they were impressive in the recent test series with SL. Mehidy leads the spin attack with Taijul his back up, and Shakib there for the time being offering experience..

The batting line up is a worry...Shanto and Mominul are solid and will score runs, but there's little else about. Litton Das's shot selection rightly came in for huge criticism in the series against SL, it was horrendous...shakib won't be around forever, and Mushifqur is in his late 30's now and will end up slowly being phased out as is the Bangladesh way...

Are they moving forwards? To me no, and unless they find some batsmen to start scoring runs it could be a painful period of time on the horizon for Bangladesh
