I spent weeks organising the fixtures for my kids team ... and we've been doing winter training since Sept ... and now we may not even have a season!

I've had to cancel our remaining winter sessions - looks ike it'll just be me and my sons in the net in the garden, but I'm not sure how long the motivation to train will last for kids when there are no matches and they aren't even training with their mates

As cancellation of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to Covid-19, starts looking like a real possibility, Duff & Phelps, the multinational financial consultancy firm, has estimated it will reduce the value of the entire IPL ecosystem by $700 million to $1 billion. Erosion in the value is pegged 10-15%, as per the firm’s estimates. Santosh N, managing partner, D and P Advisory LLP and external advisor, Duff & Phelps, said this does not capture a financial recession.

Many states in India are facing lock-down atleast till 31st March 2020 because of Coronavirus. So that means the start of IPL which was supposed to be 29 March is certainly postponed.

The West Indies cricket board has approved next month's tour of England where the regional side will play three Tests in a "bio-secure" environment.

The series, if it gets the nod of the UK government, will mark resumption of international cricket which has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Board gave approval in principle for the proposed upcoming West Indies Test tour of England," Cricket West Indies (CWI) said in a statement.

"The decision comes only after CWI medical and cricket-related representatives and advisors have been involved in detailed discussions with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and their own medical and public health advisers."

I hope this tour is more "bio-secure" than the rest of England, because the government and their "scientific" advisers have made a hash of things so far....

Monsoon seasons is a forced break for I Dian domestic cricket, so don't see any matches happening in India for 3 months. Maybe IPL in September as soon as rains stop or reduce drastically.
