The cricket request and query thread

What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

The cricket request and query thread

Postby Dimi » Mon Nov 30, 2009 10:51 pm

The aim of this thread is to provide all posters with a place to exchange and post videos and statistics that another member is unable to find. If you are searching for a particular scorecard, table, list of averages, youtube video etc, simple place a query here. Then, if another CMS member comes across this scorecard or video, then they can post it here in response. Thanks to sportsbloggeradi for coming up with the idea for this tool, too.

Nice to see the thread. I do have a query.

(1)I would like to have a link of video for Sachins innings of 125 in the unofficial match between MCC XI v Rest of the World XI at Lords, England, July 18, 1998

Sachin led MCC against International XI l(captained by Lara). He scored 125 at Lords in that match which happened in July 18 1998.

(2) In the link mentioned below the video has some catches. The second catch has been taken by Adam Dale . Does anyone has the video for that catch separately? The catch was taken in Queensland vs. New South Wales @ Gabba - 1997/98.

Thanks.

Mark Waugh hitting Vettori for a six at Perth in 1997/98? The video was there sometime ago on you tube but seems to have vanished. It is one of the greatest shots I have seen.

GB, I remember that one, it was a great hit.

My request is something I read about and have never seen which was Simon O'Donnell's 50 off 18 balls in Sharjah against Sri Lanka. I was a bit of a fan of O'Donnel when I was younger.

Donnell's 50 of 18? I think it is the fastest fifty scored by an Australian.

Something I've been thinking about for a little while is what the record is for most number of participants for a CMS fantasy league comp?

This is going to be a weird request, but once I was looking through youtube and I found this video where they were showing pavillion on the screen and Smith and Mckenzie were talking and fooling around, this was when Smith had his hand broken in Australia. Smith pinched or did something silly to McKenzie and he gave him smack right in his hand with a ruler, commentators were laughing and aghast needless to say. For the life of me I can't find that video now.

ok, I did a quick bit of research, and found a website that provided a link to the video of Mckenzie hitting Smith's broken hand on purpose. However, it said that the video had been removed by Cricket SA due to copyright reasons. I assume the footage is not available anywhere then.

Oh that's dissapointing. Thanks for trying though. I remembered there was a site that would allow you to download deleted youtube videos if you knew the id.

Does anyone knowwhat the latest is with Simon katich? I've no idea as to the nature of his injury. Will he be available for the Slowbart Test?

Latest word from the man himself (as at 8/1 morning papers) - he'll be right to play. Will be flying to Hobart and expects to prove fitness with a strong nets session
