Jerome Taylor

Jamaican pacer Jerome Taylor has been arrested after an altercation with a policeman in his home parish of St Elizabeth....

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 973199.ece

"Taylor will learn whether he will be allowed to head back Down Under on January 12, when he faces court over an altercation at a Jamaican bar. The bowler allegedly assaulted a police officer and used coarse language towards policemen. The arrest completes a dismal past five weeks for the 25-year-old. He was forced to return home from Australia after the first Test in Brisbane, where he bowled just nine overs before succumbing to a back and side injury."

Cricketers are all just regular people and most players have been bar hoppers, beer guzzlers on the verge of trouble. We dont know the exact circumstances of JT's problems and I will reserve comment until I know more. The Jamaican Police can be high-handed at times and Jamaican cricketers sometimes think that their popularity gives them an excuse to be excessive.

Still firmly a Jerome Taylor Fan.

In cricketing terms, Darren is considered to be brainless when bowling ...
You can draw your own conclusion on Taylor's misbehaviour.

No news on his court case yet, but at least he's got some good news, in winning the award from cricinfo for best bowling performance in a Test match....

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/sport/TAYLOR-HAPPY-f21

Unfortunately, he hasn't really done anything since then.
:no
Gayle won his award for best 20/20 batting performance for his blitzkrieg 88 off 50 balls against Australia. We certainly could've used an innings like that today!

Taylor has bowled very well for Jamaica in the four-day dometic competition, but missed the two previous rounds to mourn the death of his grandmother. He came back to the side to play against trinidad, but has now pulled up injured....

"He will not be bowling for the rest of the match," team manager Jimmy Adams told The Gleaner yesterday. "He had some issues with his back while on the field and we took the decision to take him to the doctor (Dr Akshai Mansingh) and have an assessment done. Since then he has been advised to do some physiotherapy treatment."

He may miss Jamaica's next round match against the Lions....

Why is he not playing in ODIs and playing in IPL?

Isnt it another case of WICB screwing up ?
