Don't know, he seems to be as good as ever so I'd like to see him get 20,000. :halo:

Of all the greats, one would like to see Sachin go out whilst still at his absolute best. His great legacy would be otherwise diminishedif a clear decline appears in the standard of his game.

That said I would have thought he could play through to 40 easily if he so desired.

I often wonder when he will retire, everytime he comes to england i seem adamant that its the last time we will see him play but india are due again soon i think so i hope he comes and does play but if india win the world cup at home, then do you think that will be it?

Probably the only record he hasn't broke is the highest individual test score and there's still time for him to do that.

I'm sure he'd be good enough to, if it were necessary.

Unfair ddb - unfair Lara, in a poor side by West Indies standards, has won many a game for them as well as saving some. Apart from Headley I can't think of a West Indian batsman who rivals him. Please, all of you, don't come back with Viv - he scored many of his runs in a very good batting side not having to worry about everyone getting out at the other end.

Yeah it was unfair, Lara was a joy to watch, at least we can all agree Punter is a class below Sachin and Lara? :hide

In the last 15 years or so Lara & Sachin have been the best whilst the likes of Kallis, Ponting, Jayawardene, Dravid, Inzamam were a class below IMO.

Would probably add Fleming to the above list too. All still a class above alot of what is knocking around at the moment.
