Hard to believe it's all over. He was as close as you can get to embodying the pride of a whole nation, so it's no wonder there's not a dry eye anywhere, especially for those of us that have been there since the start. Truly the passing of an era - Goodbye Sachin and thanks for the memories.

Just couldn't control my tears, seeing him break down. That touching of the pitch. Pure Gold. Emotion yet to sink in. He has done some incredible things on the cricket pitch but that farewell speech is probably the best thing he has ever done. Incredibly grounded. Thanks for all the memories. A tremendous player and a tremendous career. From the first time I saw him play (as a teenager for Yorkshire!) it seemed he was destined for greatness.

I’ll always remember the battle he had with Sidebottom in a test at Trent Bridge. Sidebottom was “in his pomp” and probably bowled as well at Tendulkar as he had ever bowled at anyone and severely tested him. He couldn’t get his wicket, though. This showed the gritty qualities that Tendulkar also possessed in abundance.

Can vaguely remember Sachin Tendulkar opening the batting for India v England in the 2007 ODI at Headingley, scoring at a run a ball from the off by playing shots on the floor. At the time I thought nothing much of it, but looking back now it was an exquisite knock.

I was so lucky once that i dreamt about him scoring a century against England. That turned out to be true as he knocked a ton against England in the next ODI series.

The Goodbye has been tremendous and one if its kind. It was like a festival. Millions were thanking him for the joy that he has given that too being the humblest of human being even though he was considered god like by huge population. Took the opportunity to knock a 50 in his last innings. Hunger was there until last moment.

I am sure he and BCCI will know the amount of experience he has gained during this great career and they will want him to be part of the cricketing system, probably in the role of mentor. Cricket without Sachin and Sachin without cricket is tough. He will be back in cricket. Most percentage of cricket followers want him to be back in cricket. So many well wishers.
