Sort of suggests Amir won't be playing for Pakistan soon.

Cairns found not guilty of perjury. Some big names who gave evidence against him might be surprised and somewhat upset.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Can't believe that verdict! Does that mean all of those players were lying?

It sounds like the judge told the jury to take the testimonies against CC with a pinch of salt.

Yes a bad day for cricket. Brendan Mc Cullem was prepared to speak up for the good of cricket and has himself effectively been accused of committing perjury. Players are now going to be very reluctant to come forward about approaches.

why would he the police and the ICC basically gave him full immunity.
He can not get arrested unless they have prove that he lied or the polices/ICC link him to some match fixing that he didn't tell them before.

here a post I posted in another forum.

Really bad day for ICC.
this trial could actually see less people talking to the icc about approaches.
looks like Cairns got away with it because of Vincent being the key witness.

is not all good news for Cairns though it is very likely he will be found guilty in the civil court when Modi files charges against him.

Was actually a tough case considering he is probably guilty but just not strong enough evidence apart from the Vincent angle.
judge made a good point last week or the week before about if you charge Cairns for the match fixing then he automatically get's charge for perjury and if get charged for perjury, he also get done for fixing.
it was impossible for the judge to give him a lesser sentence or get him charged on something else.
when he said that it was pretty obvious it will be a not guilty verdict.

Anyway he probably still get arrested or be bankrupt considering he got loads of court battles in the future.
Vincent is a lucky guy though Judge sounded livid that the police/ICC gave him immunity if he spill the beans and get another guy arrested.

ICC investigation into this was a disgrace essentially lost key evidence, wasn't impartial and showed agenda, didn't get involved even though they had evidence to help modi case.
They literally helped Cairns get away in court and they gave Vincent a free ride and They still haven't caught a big fish or know anything new about fixing or how it operates.

The judge really wanted Vincent to get charged and was actually annoyed when the police confirmed he had full immunity.
Vincent was a deeply flawed witness because of his past crimes as a county cricketer. His own confession of fixing in five countries and committing criminal offences in England led the judge to direct the jury to treat his evidence with caution. “In his case you should be particularly cautious that he might have his own interest to serve,”

He said Vincent offered up Cairns as a “big name” so the police would not charge him with deception and money laundering. He was warned by the judge he could incriminate himself before giving evidence but emails showed Vincent was given assurances by the police that he would not be prosecuted because they were not investigating match-fixing.

Personally I hope vincent gets arrested.

good article on why the case fell through. it is pretty obvious the evidence not strong enough to get cairns charged but he should get charged when Modi takes him to court.

The PCB chairman says they are considering Amir for selection. Presumably for the World T20.

Don't know where this leaves Hafeez. Would he quit the national team?

While the PCB have paid lip service to Amir returning, I can't imagine that it is just Hafeez who has issue with him returning from the player base. While he has been decent enough in the BPL, he's not exactly turned in the sort of performance that demands selection. That said this is the PCB who outside the WICB are about as unpredictable as it is possible for a cricket board to be.

Keven Cooper is doing better, and I don't see anyone crying out for him to be playing for the West Indies.
