Hardly surprise there. There had to be a fraudulent reason why he played nearly 40 tests.

No specifics yet. It may well be bluster, just a dodgy betting bloke talking himself up and getting some lucky guesses - I think something similar happened last year.

If true though, it's big.

someone has posted elsewhere that the two Australians named for the test in India last year were Smith and Maxwell.

I am still sceptical, but that would be big news if true.

TBH the English one is shocking as well.
It surely can’t be him, the only clue is it matches smith in terms of player.
Don’t want to mention the names, mostly because it not been named, I am guessing and the allegation not been proven.
But from the video it does look like Maxwell, smith, the person I don’t want to name.

Intresting case though from the outside it looks serious enough that icc and boards are taking it seriously but likewise it is outrageous claims that could be rubbised.

Icc and ecb and ca asking for the evidence to be sent to them and so they can see for themselves if their is a case to answer.

If any of it is true it will definitely change cricket in England and Australia especially since it was always thought this would never happen in this 2 countries especially when it come to the international players.
Will be huge in England actually will definitely see the end of Cook since not sure how he could carry on with him being captain while this all happened, again nothing been proven but if did all happen I expect Cook to retire since his name would be tarnish for either not knowning what was going on, either on it or fed up of what is happening to English cricket.
The 2 English players will obviously be banned so that 2 changes and it would probably causes some senior players to think do they also want to play for this team in the future.

Insane allegation though Al Jazeera would be finish if it is all flimsily considering the names and boards they are accusing of cheating.

After seeing the doc, gut feeling is telling me it is true.
I just hope no big players are involved in it or any players I like watching.
the england one is quite scary actually because Might need to watch that section again but I think it was a 2 or 3 session and 1 or 2 manda overs, not sure the odds of getting that correct by fluke is high, especially if the same guy predict some other test later on, although I do believe it could still be a tipster looking to make a quick dollar by conning rich men.
people that work in the betting industry or follow cricket for a long time can pick up pattern, know when to place certain bets, more or less can make a very good educated guesses, you can't discount that al jazeera basically been hoodwinked into believing they been seeing a fix when in reality all it was some dude said this would happen and it just happened.
pretty sure Manda must be common in Test matches especially when the current run rates are around 3, can't comment on the Session lines but you could probably make a good guess at those as well if you know how to batsman will approach the batting and the bowling attack they are facing.

But it all really depends on what the Session bets were so far they haven't released those information yet so hard to say if it could be true or it could be done by luck.

Still can't get my head around that England or Australia team is involved in any part of spotfixing especially internationally

hope it is all wrong though.

Anyway the 3 english named players will have a meeting with the ICC anti corruption this week.
Not great preparation for them for the 2nd test match.

Can see why ICC are taking this seriously the evidece is certainly better that the crap the Sun gave last winter on the Ashes, which was ridiculed straightaway this one can't be ridiculed like that because the allegation are serious and they have evidence to back it up although not much yet to back the players into it, pretty hard proving that one unless they can find the money and find links to the people mentioned so far.
