you did compare him with swann however when you said how he had outperformed swann and singlehandedly won the match ...

who is undermining him? i have acknowledged he was our best bowler in the game , i am just not going to get carried away with hyperbole like that post you have just made

shane warned never bowled on many pitches like that one i would bet

Warne also bowled to a better batting line up than that one.

Anyway, Monty did bowl really well and nothing else, surprised their batsmen. They might be more ready in Kolkata.

Only Dravid and Laxman are missing. But they now have Pujara and Kholi. Monty'S BEST EVER PERFORMANCE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Warne'S best ever performance in India

Tendulkar is past it now though.

SRT who smashed Warne in 98 was a different batsman. VVS at his best? He was better than even SRT at his best on a turning track.

I have to collect humble pies. Thought Rohit and Shikhar can only give a 50 run partnership in England. But they got a 100+ .

Ravi needs to back it up with consistent performances, preferably some match winning ones so you can hold off the pie for now.

This, he may have the odd good performance but there's a reason he hasn't been a mainstay in the English setup in all 3 formats.

Mohammed Irfan

When he first appeared on the scene he looked slow, gangly and basically useless....but thus far in champs trophy, he has bowled with very good pace and accuracy and looks like a completely different bowler.

had no worries about Dhawan but must admit that I would definitely have had Pujara ahead of Rohit - didn't expect Rohit to do well.

Similarly, I had concerns about how Jadeja would do in Eng, but the wickets have been a bit strange and he has certainly made the most of it - great perfomance in Eng so far

Delighted to be wrong in both cases :D

I'd wait a bit and see if Rohit performs in pressure games before collecting my humble pie but good signs nevertheless.
