Only Bravo would be a loss out of those in Tests. But he would be a massive loss, of course.

For some reason, Dave Cameron thinks Samuels deserved the offer of a 'B' contract, but Lil Bravo only deserved a 'C' contract....

http://www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/ ... 65740.html

' Dave Cameron has said Darren Bravo was offered a Grade-C contract because his "poor" recent performances did not merit a higher pay grade. Cameron also revealed that of the 15 players who were recently offered WICB contracts till September 2017, only Kraigg Brathwaite and Marlon Samuels had received contracts higher than the C category. Along with Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite and Samuels, who was given a Grade-B contract, had declined the board's offer. This is the first time that the WICB offered an explanation of the contract Bravo was offered. "It is explicit that if your averages are not above a certain level it tells you what contracts you get. It is very, very explicit," Cameron told SportsMax TV, a Caribbean television network. "His averages in the last two years have been declining, so what do you do? Reward poor performance or do you encourage him to get better?" Bravo is one of the most experienced players in the West Indies Test squad and when Cameron asked if it was demotivating for the batsman to be offered a low contract, he said: "If you continue to keep giving him an A contract then what is the motivation to get better? He has been on an A contract and he hasn't done well." Bravo responded with a tweet saying he had never been offered a Grade-A contract. "You hav been failing 4 d last 4yrs. Y don't u resign and FYI I've neva been given an A contract. Big idiot @davec51," he said on Twitter.'

'West Indies Cricket Board has sent a notice to Darren Bravo saying the batsman's match contract has been cancelled due to the "disparaging" remarks he made on Twitter about board president Dave Cameron earlier in the week. In an e-mail sent to Bravo on Friday, Richard Pybus, WICB's director of cricket, warned that if the batsman did not delete the tweet and apologise by Saturday afternoon, he could face further action from the board's disciplinary panel. While Bravo has not made any comment in public, it is learnt he has not yet responded to the WICB. On Saturday, the WICB had replaced Bravo in the squad for the Zimbabwe tri-series for "inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour", which breached contractual obligations. While the cancellation of his match contract applies to the Zimbabwe series for now, it could include future tours. Bravo is currently without a retainer after he declined a central contract offered by the WICB for the 2016-17 period in November.'

Only the West Indies could follow up a hugely positive Test win with this mess.

be interesting to see what ECB do next year, do they pay WICB more money if the players take part in t20 blast and do so if they can get WICB to pick best 11 and give the players enough motivation to actually play well in the series so the ECB don't make massive losses.

CA and CSA are livid WICB asked for 10% of the release fee of playing in the T20 competition and they saying it was only a mooted idea in the ICC circles and they need to discuss it more but it is bit hypocritical that boards get money from IPL teams but it doesn't apply to other competitions.
not really sure what point Lorgat was making saying it is fine for IPL but not for other competitions.

Really if NZ, WICB, CA, CSA, Counties etc get money from IPL don't see how it is any different to them asking money for playing in blast, bash etc.

but then again I don't trust WICB to actually spend the money wisely and they way they treated Bravo is pathetic.

Jimmy Adams has taken over as the director of cricket at the West Indies Cricket Board. Adams, who turned 49 on Monday, replaces Richard Pybus, who opted to not renew his contract having served in the role for three years.

Last week, ESPNcricinfo reported Adams had accepted the job but was negotiating the terms. On Tuesday, the WICB announced Adams' appointment stating his contract was for three years.

"Bravo will not be considered for West Indies selection until he settles an ongoing dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board according to Courtney Browne, the West Indies' chairman of selectors. Bravo, 27, was forced to return home from Harare on the eve of the November tri-series in Zimbabwe after the WICB cancelled his match contract reacting to his criticism of board president Dave Cameron."
