WI has won only 13 series in last 17 years. They are as follows: 2014 (versus Bangladesh), 2012/2013 (versus Zimbabwe), 2012/2013 (versus Bangladesh) , 2012 (versus NZ), 2011/2012 (versus Bangladesh), 2008/2009 (versus England), 2004 (versus Bangladesh), 2003/2004 (versus Zimbabwe), 2003 (versus SL), 2002/2003 (Bangladesh), 2002 (versus India), 2001 versus Zimbabwe), 2000 (versus Pakistan).

They are ranked above Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. SL and Pakistan are above them, and its unlikely they are going to surpass them given the relative team strengths in near future.

Also had a look at test statistics of the batters playing in the ongoing test.

Brathwaitte - 37
Kierran Powell - 26
Kyle Hope - 13
Shye Hope - 24
Roston Chase - 42
Jermaine Blackwood - 33

Only Roston Chase is one player who will make it into other squads. The averages of other batters is very poor. Agreed some players with the poor averages are newbies in test cricket, however at this point of time during the lows of the test team they would have liked more players who delivered better performances.

I don't know about that, Brathwaitte and Chase would make the current England team.

who knows..but good signs for him, if he and Brathwaite can consistently make scores and they can get 1 or 2 in around them at least it will be a start..

This side would be comptitive

Brathwaite
Powell
Darren Bravo
Shai Hope
jermiane Blackwood
Roston Chase
Denesh Ramdin
Jason Holder
Devandre bishoo
Kemar Roach
Shannon Gabriel..

Powell i would axe if there was anyone else, and to be honest Dowrich is dreadful, IMO even Ramdin is better..

Not many changes, this is a talented side and should be performing much better than they are now

Intresting that Holder has said that both Darren Bravo and Chris Gayle could come back.....Bravo would come back at expense of Kyle hope, and you would say Gayle for Powell, but im not convicned Gayle is actually intrested tbh

Not sure there's much point going back to Gayle. He's 38 this week. He's overweight and his commitment doesn't even fluctuate, it just occasionally flickers open a single eye before rolling over and going back to sleep. He's been away for a whole three years.
