There's only Bravo jr. missing though? Who would be in a Test team?

I think it is a shame...a nation who was once a major force in test cricket has fallen away so badly that in 5 years time they may not even be playing test cricket...of course it's a shame...

They are world champions. They have set their priorities and are doing pretty well

Their 50 over side is as poor as the Test team. T20 barely exists at international level. So in terms of WI cricket, there's not a lot there.

Arguably Narine, but WI try to keep him hidden.

Hmm few choices... i know he hasn't played for while and im not saying he should be there....but if you have choice of Powell or Gayle, Pretty sure 95% of people would choose Gayle...Bravo should be there..Samuels frustrating but better than at least one of the hope brothers...Ramdin better than Dowrich...narine may be there..but bishoo is useful....Dwayne Bravo potentially...there are options

From the Test team, Ramdin was dropped on form. As was Bravo sr. Gayle's too old and heavy for five day cricket and injured outside the big paydays. Samuels has an ordinary Test record and arguably WI are right to look for a better player. They're all maybes.

The main issue is that there simply isn't the quality of first class cricket in the Windies to produce players of a Test class reliably. Mike would know more, but I always seem to get the impression that domestic games in the Windies are basically low scoring and dominated by spinners.

Is there a batting coach with the Windies? Or is Law head coach and batting coach?

Wouldn't Kieron Pollard get in the Test side?

His ODI record isn't very good.

First class record is quite good though.

Fair enough, 37.7 average is probably a decent record for a WI bat.

I believe Pollard has never played a full first class season, as a one day international and ipl star he hardly plays in the 4 day competition. I remember reading he averages something like 2 matches per year as a professional. He's on record as saying he would like to play, but says he'd have to quit IPL, which of course he won't.
