I feel that once Afghanistan and Ireland join the Test playing nations UAE will be next in line - not due to the quality of their cricket, this was their first win in a four day game since 2013, but due to their potential fan base/untapped market for the ICC.

ICC have always wanted Nepal to progress for the same reason. Nepal were only included in the ICC WCL Championship because of their huge fan base.

Canada and Oman will contest the division 3 final, with both teams progressing to division 2 next year. The USA and Singapore will play off for third, with Uganda and Malaysia both being relegated to division 4. Oman's rise has been impressive, as they have secured their third promotion in a row. With all the effort that has gone into US cricket, I would have thought they'd have performed better than they did. With the problems they're having off the field, perhaps staying in division 3 might not be a bad thing for them, for now.

Interesting move from USA cricket that can be viewed in two different ways.

They have delayed the vote to reform their governing body as all clubs, leagues and interested parties undertake a second round of vetting.

The article below suggests a range of legitimate accidents that could have occurred but also hints at some skulduggery. After the collapse of the last governing body you could see this as being a hugely laudable act but also shows that there are some nefarious do-badders that are trying to derail cricket's next big frontier.

Also states that there are 5,469 Individual Members, 168 Clubs and 24 Leagues who have registered which sounds hugely promising.

Looking at the football WC, if FIFA took their cue from the ICC, they would restrict their competition to teams from Europe and South America.
