It will be interesting to see how Afghanistan fare in red ball cricket, of the associate nations they are arguably the ones who can justify test status.

The ICC has suspended Nepal due to "government interference in the board". Given that CSA has just been banned from apply to host international tournaments due to internal politics, the disputes between the WICB and CARICOM and the way the PCB is run, this seems a touch of the old double standards from the ICC.

Michael Clarke will play for Kowloon in Hong Kong's domestic T20 tournament.

That's quite unconventional from Clarke. Last I heard about him he was playing league cricket in Australia with a view to returning at first class level. That was a while ago though.

I think Clarke playing in Hong Kong is an attempt to let the cricket world know he's still available for the various T20 leagues around the world, although nobody seems to be knocking, other than Hong Kong of course. He did have a contract with the Melbourne Stars, but he decided he was too good for them. He's a good signing for the Hong Kong comp, but can't really see him getting a gig anywhere else.

Not too surprising. Jersey were at home and put in some good performances at the World T20 Qualifier.

Rahmat Shah scores a ton for Afghanistan in Edinburgh, a long way from home conditions. First limited overs ton. Looks ike a very productive second half of the innings before the rain came.

Decent score for Afghanistan, even if hard work to get there, but a good start from Porterfield and Joyce. Four-fers for Kevin O'Brien and McCarthy.

Shahidi, Rahmat, Zadran and Ahmadzai played really well for Afghanistan in a mailing of Netherlands. Stanikzai only still in team as captain. Michael Rippon gets overlooked but is a really strong Associate Player.

Afghanistan are giving themselves a sniff against BD with about 80 needed off ten and eight wickets in the bank.

38 off five overs needed.

I think they'll do it.

3 wickets in the last two overs has now turned this on its head.

Advantage Bangladesh.
