Wonder if anyone from Afg didn't travel because of security issues? Or if they have presidential level security?

Not this time for Afghanistan.

Think there's two more to go in this series. Could still turn it around.

In a T20 quadrangular series in Kenya, the two finalists facing off tomorrow will be Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with the hosts missing out, along with Uganda.

Canada have won the Auty Cup, defeating the United States 2-1, with the Americans winning the dead rubber.

Papua New Guinea and Namibia have just played out an interesting Intercontinental Cup game.

Both decent sides that need ICC support.

Namibia have been on an awful run of form at the moment but have had some really great stand out performances. Nicolaas Scholtz was the main man today but his brother Bernard and Craig Williams have been on top form.

Didn't know whether to put this on the England Lions thread or the BPL thread so decided to put it here but...

Rashid Khan is such a talented legspinner and only 17. Really is a shame his options will be limited due to the fact that he is affiliated with an Associate team.

If he works on his batting could have a huge future in front of him....comparatively speaking.

He's definitely not 17 but he is an excellent leg spinner for sure.

Another excellent day for Rashid Khan. 3-14 today; takes his series haul to six.

Don't think newman seen the ireland team yet.
personally think england should let Stokes, Buttler, billings, Roy, hales etc play IPl and let the 2nd or 3rd 11 get playing time and experiance before champions trophy/world cup.

Disagree strongly with Newman claims that playing a strong team against Ireland is a must.
if Ireland were strong then yeah pick a strong team but with the state of the Irish team at the moment playing 2 weeks in india will be more beneficial.

Might be confusing for the press, after years of criticising players for wanting IPL. Now they have to take the opposite view.

true.
not sure picking a strong team will be beneficial for england anyway.
most likely players won't be happy to come back early plus england won't learn anything with buttler, hales, roy etc playing.
they are more likely to learn more if some of the successful north/south players play for England.

Really England should be doing what india does when it tours Zimbabwe every year or bangladesh for ODI, pick a fringe team with senior players rested.
essentially used to pick out squad member or future players and makes the games more closer and watchable not sure people would watch it if England are thrashing ireland easily.

That's generally what they do for Ireland games, but as ever there are layers of resentment and acrimony to work through and different levels of indignation based on what reason for missing the game seems likely.

True although one statement I don't agree with is that england would be better prepared for champions trophy by playing 2 odi against ireland in Early may than playing IPL.
if anything the two odi won't actually make any difference considering england got an odi series with SA before the tournament.
So it really down to whether ECB wants them to play in cold england against a poor ireland side or in india.
it is laughable to claim that playing against ireland is great preparation though considering SA odi is before the champions trophy.
