How many recent caps in that team were born in Scotland.

6, most seeming to come from Aberdeen which i understand has the strongest cricket following in Scotland.

3 from South Africa

2 from England.

From the team that played today.

Has England had more than 3 SA born players in its team at any given time?

Strauss, Trott, KP and Prior must have played quite a lot of matches together. There's also several others like Roy, Lumb, Kieswetter, Dernbach, Meaker who have played too.

So, Scotland are doing a decent job.

we should play England in Aberdeen

if it was too big an ask for the England team to adapt to conditions in Cardiff, lets see how they do in Aberdeen

With Scotland getting these results perhaps the ECB could organise a Britain one day tournament, with Ireland and Scotland. Just 3 games over 5 days. Might help grow the game a bit in different parts of the UK.

Heck England could even put out a B team.......

But this result and Irelands current form would suggest Scotland has moved ahead of them in the pecking order.

But now what for Zim?

bit premature to say Scotland goes above Ireland based on one game, afaik Scotland lost to Namibia yesterday or the day before

But Ireland of the last year have also been ordinary. Have they beaten a test playing nation in the last year?

Its to easy to support Sweden over Norway, its like following Australia over New Zealand, or England over Wales. In almost everything one side is better, but there is one sport where the little insignificant country throws all its resources at and is pretty good at that. And they just cant shut up about that sport even though only 1 or 2 countries in the world take it serious or where its their national sport.

I think its called small brother syndrom or something like that...........

On a side note i might well get down to the local swedish cricket club this summer to see what its all about.

Dan i had no idea Scotland beat SL, big scalp.

It would have actually been an ODI but Beckenham isn't an ODI standard ground.

Funny because, in all seriousness, your comments about Swedish football are mirrored in Norway. Years of mounting interest and investment are starting to sprout, although maybe they'll all stupidly pick to go to a club with the best player in the world in their position and slowly rot for years...

I'll whisper this as its on the wrong thread, but Lars Bohinen was one of may favourite footballers. Scando countries can produce footballers, its just that over the last 15 years its been the Zlatan show.

Now to bring it back, Sweden cricket seems to be on the way up.
