Cheers SP. Will have a look.

Used 3 wickets based in Germany last night for some smaller things. So far seems good though will have to wait to see what the balls are like..

I got a response. They said that the only cricket shop in Norway is in Oslo run by a coach that runs the national academy, but he has stopped selling smaller items due to the fact English suppliers wont ship lower-value items to them on the basis its not worth the red tape. So the Cricket Board took bulk orders at the start of the year and sourced it for them, with the added advantage that the customs network then recognized the Board's purchase as charity/sporting items that were not subjected to VAT, lower duties or the carrier fees that usually double the price.

They said that before they managed to get everyone to pool together, they had been ordering from normal websites in the UK (like SportsDirect, ugh) or Amazon.de apparently sells them, but Id rather not play cricket than give Ashley and Bezos my money. He said an order of 100 pounds would end up being closer to 200 once it arrived with fees, duties, etc. Obviously Amazon.de wouldnt charge that, but I have no idea if they send to Sweden and at what cost.

Taxes add a fair bit in Sweden. Never buying from sports direct even though they seem to have an outlet in Europe. The added costs from buying from the UK just makes it a lot more expensive.

Ive managed to order a box of 6 balls coming from Germany at 40 euros including postage. Pretty happy with that price for training though not sure what the standard of ball will be.

If decent then will order a lot more. It seems these guys import from India for balls and brand their shop name on em. Seen a few shops do this. The other equipment is Indian and Pakistan made with the odd bit of British equipment

The importer of cricket equipment in southern Sweden has stated he wont buy equipment from the UK now. Gets from India and Pakistan. Less paperwork and taxes. It seems most shops in Europe might be going this way.

nothing to do with test cricket at all, so what the BBC fixtures team are playing at, I have no idea

Only other reference to it came on Sky's fixture page, but that didn't say what it was either.

Don't know where they get "Test" matches.

Middlesex Titans seem to be playing a match at Kingston Upon Thames next week...

It was widely common to give colonial towns the names of English ones, and common also to name the larger region around these towns like in England too. So in this case, Kingston takes its name from the Surrey town of Kingston-Upon-Thames, so the county of Kingston Jamaica is also called Surrey. Cornwall is also a Jamaican county, with its historical major town called Falmouth....

They are all Jamaican regional teams therefore. These are not English sides touring.... its just a tournament of teams from Jamaica for T10.

The labelling of tests is clearly a mistake.

Having checked, Middlesex is also apparently a Jamaican county.

it is men's cricket, then. I wasn't sure

I see that one of the matches had to have the reply reduced to 5 overs, presumably because of the weather

Such a shame that a 10 over contest ends up being reduced to the lottery of a 5 over piece of nonsense ;)

I went to a fundraising cricket match in Milton Keynes today, and it was my great pleasure to chat to special guests Gordon Greenidge and Clive Lloyd there.

Made my day!
