Agreed, the new update looks absolutely appalling, what on earth have they done?

Have only briefly glanced at it, but it seems the most important aspects of the scoreboard don't stand out anymore.

Why do people insist on changing things for change sake, especially when the old scorecard was fine. It did get a mild update from time to time but this latest revamp is a complete change.

No need for it.

looks like SA are getting punished for going against bcci in the recent ICC votes.
SA are losing boxing day test against india.
india now playing a home series against Sri lanka during november/december.

sri lanka partly.
they voted for BCCI in one vote and in the other they went against I think or abstained the vote.

Although this could be nothing to do with the ICC vote but BCCI needing a home season every year to keep Star and sponsers happy, with Aus and pak pulling out india got no games at home this season and they did say few years ago they won't be going and playing boxing day test against SA/Aus if india doesn't get a home season.
india home season comes first before india tours now.

be interesting to see how india tours Australia next for Test matches, would be a big loss for CA if they can't fit a boxing day test with india.

Generally the rule is india won't be touring when the ranji trophy or the domestic programme at home happens, which is a good thing really because it is quite selfish that Aus, England, SA etc could have a home season but india can't.
so if they following that trend should mean no touring for india between late oct-late dec or early jan.

partly this is what is troubling CA at the moment because money that india provide will not be given to other international boards now.
at the moment the value of overseas india cricket rights are going down because india home games and ipl value is going up and broadcaster are not really intrested in overseas rights where india only plays once every few years.
CA are expected to lose money in the next rights deal and at the same time CA are expected to lose or get a similar value to the 9 and ten deals since at the moment both broadcasters are struggling to make money so they not really expected a big increase in the rights value.
So CA is still very dependent on india for money and the dependacy expected to rise and if they not sure on the revenue in the future it is easier just to cut money from the players.

Edit to counter this threat boards wanted to coup rights together so basically if an india broadcaster wanted india away rights they had to get others as well plus it would be more valuable to indian broadcasters as well since they be getting most of india away games in one package rather bidding them series by series basis and the boards like WI/Zim/Sri lanka would get more since if a broadcaster wanted Australia vs india then it would have to show Zimbabwe vs india or even bangladesh vs Zimbabwe.
so every board should get more money.

Hopefully the india vs South africa series remains 4 test, it should still be 4 test if the reciprocal arrangement is followed.
wonder if SA will host 8 back to back test from jan or mid jan.
would be sad if SA got 2 test again, especially at a time i feel india got a good chance of winning a series in SA, should be a good close series as well, especially if SA are still struggling to find batsman.

india got the bowlers to give SA a game and the batsman to win test matches.

In terms of matches India to have an even bigger home season than last year.
23 matches and all grounds in India getting a game.
With Assam and Kerala likely to be new test grounds.

india vs South africa still 4 test matches and the full tour, so haroon lorgat must be a very happy man indeed.
seems like the tour will start on jan 4 or 5.
very busy few years for india players than still no real break since 18 months ago and unlikely to get one for another 2 and half years.
got australia after this, then NZ, Sri lanka, SA, odi quad tournament, ipl, england, india home season, Australia.
Although Australia dates might get interesting if BCCI wants a long home season.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/spor ... 925868.cms

only one warm up game likely as well, although it seems BCCI wanted two but not possible with the dates.

Although the intresting part of the article was that SA rejected Sri lanka which in turn meant india had a team to replace pakistan so india could have a team around oct/nov.
would have meant india having no cricket for 2 and half months which is quite a long time for them considering at most 2-3 weeks is the longest period without an indian game somewhere.

The new cricinfo layout is worse just like the cricinfo app for mobiles. Have moved on to cricbuzz to follow scorecards on computer as well as mobile phone. However, i never liked the cricbuzz site because it is still not good in quality and content. The new design of cricinfo is making it look better.

Can't find the link to series and career averages that used to be in the stats section of the scoreboard.
