Anya shrubsole makes the bbc sports personality nomination team.
was about to post that yet again no cricketer makes the list but then shrubsole name make it.
Shrubsole deserves the nomination but got a feeling she got it because of the huge backlash last year of no cricketers in the list.

last cricketer to make an impact on the competition is Andrew Flintoff.
with a win in 2005 and and 3rd place finish in 2004.
the likes of Root, Ali and Stokes can't even get nominated in recent times whereas lesser sport stars are.

Shrubsole first cricketer to be nominated for the award since Ian Bell in 2013.

Tammy Beaumont, seemingly, so she'll be pleased about being overlooked

I will publish the next excerpt when the question has been correctly answered.

Akubra - the iconic Aus hat
Kelpie - the only dog with eyebrows
Ute - a utility vehicle, with space in the back for a bloke's kelpie

Happy to do the CMS cricket awards again, but equally content if someone else fancies having a go.

Really need at least ten entries to make it work.

Nice story on the ABC radio this afternoon.

39 years ago, a young cricket fan met the touring England Cricket team at a meet and greet in an Adelaide shopping centre, he was given a signed pair of 'keepers gloves by the reserve 'keeper, David Bairstow - who was Jonny's father. I didn't know, but Bairstow Snr took his own life when Jonny was only 8.

This morning, the fan and Jonny met up with an emotional Jonny being gifted the gloves.

Full story, and recording of the interview with the generous fan done during the cricket call, is here

I will unless there are any other takers.

I shall try and get a thread up soon and results would be early Jan methinks.
