how that is meant to support a test team is beyond me


Imagine being an Irish cricketer getting a domestic contract, you have about a 1 in 5 chance of making the Ireland national team.

Unless if Ireland Cricket plan on pinning up posters at all county training centres asking if you have an Irish parent or grandparent to be eligible for selection :halo:

It will take a lot of years but if those 5 teams can develop academies as successful as Yorkshire and Durham then they're in with a chance.
After all you'd get a canny test team from those academy products in last 15 years which is the length of a cricket career.
Then add Colly as head coach.
