Robin Jackman is back with the mic. He has been fighting a malignant tumour in the vocal cords. Good to see he has recovered.

His voice has still not recovered to what he usually sounded like. Maybe his passion with cricket is motivating him enough to still be involved in cricketing jobs in spite of health issue. Hopefully, he will recover to his usual voice gradually.

I read through this again as it was bumped up. And I was shocked to see myself being a little equivocal about Knight's awfulness. I want to make it clear that i was going through shock therapy at the time.

Quite enjoying the Kiwis in this series. No Danny Morrison. No big egos.

Just found this, quite the good read.
Imho though
Past:Benaud
Present:Boycott, Aggers
Least favourite: Shastri

From what I've heard of Ed Smith on TMS during the NZ series he seems ok. If I'm watching though 90% of the time I'll turn the tv to really low volume and listen to the TMS on my laptop.

That may be just two then, including his mother. B****dy awful commentator, a typical eccentricity over knowledge choice by the BBC.

Waaaat!! Having said that the last I heard him was 15 years ago, used to like his enthusiasm more so than anything else and that's all I remember.

Simon Taufel has started doing commentary in the ongoing IPL. I have liked his commentary thus far.

Arthur Crabtree wrote:Presumably the bowlers think you can see the shine as they hide the ball or rotate it in their hands before delivery.

When the ball is new it is very very difficult to see the shine because it is almost similar color on both sides. However, when the fielding team works on it, one side becomes more darker as it is not worked upon.So due to the pronounced color difference it becomes bit easy to identify which side the shine is.That is when the bowlers try to hide the shine. Some international players have said they could see the shine even against pace bowlers, whereas others could not.

Majority of cricketers though play on the instinct once the ball is delivered and acts after pitching.

I don't mind him, prefer him to David Lloyd.
