Doubt any ODI cricketer will ever break his 200's record. 264 will remain unbeaten.

I think by the time he retires he will score one or two more 200's.

I'm not trolling here, honest... but isn't it the case that all the players we think of as the greats of ODIs are Asian (SRT, V.irate, Mo'hit, Jayawhichever) yet Australia always win and are holders.

I guess its where and when players perform.

Do we judge players by their overall record, or their performances in matches that really count?

Australia has had a lot of players who have stood up when required. Hence the 5 world cup wins and why they have been involved in 5 of the last 6 finals.

Perhaps Australian teams are more about the team, and for others individual performances are more important?

Or they have better bowlers which is traditionally what leads to success in tournaments

Today Rohit earns the record of maximum T20i hundreds. 4 for him. Think Colin Munro is behind him at 3 T20i 100's.

Rohit has now won 10 out of 11 T20i matches as captain. Doing well in captaincy too.

Also second highest run scorer in T20i format.

Yet again showing he is not at all matured as test player in spite of decade of LOI experience at international level and around 30 odd test matches.

He used to throw his wicket for Mumbai as well in Ranji like this after being well set. I see after years there is no change to his game.

Nair or Vihari should be in the side instead of Rohit

Nair has done well when he captained India A in FC this year. He was also playing the NZ A but due to the rain affected games he could not bat much. In last 3 days of this week he played decent knock on a bunsen of Rajkot wicket where the match was over in less than 3 days. I have posted image of that wicket in Ranji Trophy thread.

Hanuma Vihari has also done well on A tours. However he is already in squad and played in last test series. He took 3 wickets as well. His ability to bowl a few overs gives him advantage over Karun Nair. With Murali Vijay in severe decline, we will need someone to bowl as part timer for a spell. He has been very impressive in First class cricket.

Rightly as you mentioned these are the two deserving candidates. We have to give chances to these middle order players than going back to Rohit Sharma who has shown no signs of adapting to test format.

Landmark 200 ODI matches for Rohit.

(1) Only batsman to score 3 scores of over 200 runs in ODI cricket with scoresof 264 (SL), 209 (AUS) and 208* (SL).Also, he has 4 scores over 150 : 171* versus Australia at Perth, 162 versus WI at homeground Brabourne (Mumbai), 152* versus WI at Guwahati, 150 versus SA at Kanpur.

(2) With 22 hundreds he is now 9th in list of most ODI hundreds. Among these 9 batsmen he is 4th best in Innings per hundreds. Only Virat, Amla and ABD are better than him in this this criteria. I feel he will overcome ABD in Innings per hundred by the end of his ODI career.

(3) He is 5th ODI batsman in number of ODI sixers hit by a player.

De Villiers innings per hundred record is remarkable considering he scored most of them batting at 4 or 5
