I play golf with an older bloke. When he hits a good drive he always says "kill me now"... it sounds scant consolation, but he died doing what he loved, and undefeated at the crease. Cant imagine what some people feel like at this news...... shocking

Caught and bowled by bad luck for 25..... thats no innings.

I've not seen the incident, but I had just assumed that he'd be ok and we'd hear about his release from hospital shortly. I'm absolutely shocked at the news and my condolences go out to his family and friends.

I agree with that sentiment

I have seen talk about cancelling the first test between Australia and india next week as a mark of respect

I never knew phil hughes but I would think he would much rather see people playing the game he loved and remembering him than not playing it

I feel absolutely gutted, tragic news, R.I.P Phillip.

I will be very surprised if Sean Abbott ever plays again, I know I wouldn't/couldn't.

Very sad news. A freak injury by the sounds of it.

Jackson Bird has been ruled out indefinitely with a neck injury.

Mitch1.1 - the Cricketer Formally Known as Mitch2 - was in hospital last night, getting scans on his troublesome foot/ankle.

Stress fractures is the report. Won't bowl (or bat?) again in this test. I would say that this season is pretty well shot for him as well.

Oh dear.

Depends who has the best medical insurance. Whatever happened to Bird?

Bird is not long back from a long injury - see about 6 posts up - he has been doing okay this season for Tas, but not setting the world on fire, I think.
