Im not Sure Australia will keep both Marsha and Nevill for the start of the summer. One will have to go, as its one of the weakest number 6 and 7 in test cricket at present.

In nearly 50 innings they have a total of 4 50's between them at an average of 22. Australia will need to change one of them, otherwise number 6 is pretty much where the Aussie tail starts.

Pat Cummins takes 4 wickets in his most recent return from injury.

Please stay injury free for a few years at least....... :scared

He will make it to Monday, I'm sure of it.

A fully fit and firing Cummings and Starc would be great for international cricket. Sadly i do not think it will ever happen.

8 FC games in 6 years. Its not good to see, and you hope he stays fit.....

But I think once the seal is broken on guys like this, its the end. One more lengthy injury and he would be better served getting an education and a job then hang around cricket.

Probably true.

But he is not even 24 yet. Was rushed into to much cricket when younger.

It is always a shame to loose exceptional sports talent to injuries. It would be great for cricket if Cummins can play at the highest level injury free. The feeling is that this is not likely. Maybe if managed correctly he can make a career out of the game for a few years yet.

Yep, have one great WC, and then be set for life.

Mitch Marsh cops an injury, no-one bats an eyelid. Fair enough.

Mitch Starc gets a stress fracture in his foot, enough to end his tour of India, now THAT is something worth discussing.

Oh, sh!t!

Pattinson ruled out of the Ashes.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... contention

England might breathe slightly easier knowing they don't have to face the touted four-man battery of Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins and Pattinson, although the former three are likely to line up against them in Brisbane still, unless early season injury strikes again.

To be honest, I think that England don't have much hope unless the Australian fast bowler curse strikes once or twice more between now and the end of the series.

Would they have picked the four? Not sure Patto would get in ahead of Lyono.

Maybe four quicks would have been used in Perth and Brisbane - which probably would have been a mistake. Patto would have been the last of the four picked (and he is a huge peacock), so no great loss to the Aus cause - until, of course, one of the others breaks down.

I suppose. Got to have an offie at Perth though, to bowl into the doctor. Has Bruce Yardley been forgotten so soon?
