Here's a surprise - Critchley was apparently dropped by Lees yesterday on 28!

Finally out but a lead of only 25.
The only good thing about that last wicket stand was it meant we didn't have to bat for a couple of overs before lunch.

the last 4 wickets have already added 140 runs to their total

but don't add any more as Rushy takes his 2nd wicket

There's no rain forecast but it's pretty gloomy outside so no doubt it will be tricky this afternoon. Although this line-up takes the conditions out of the equation - even in perfect conditions they'd be relied upon to have a shocker.

that's exactly what I was thinking. anyone would think we'd seen all this stuff before

when Palladino fell with 20 mins to go, I briefly wondered if we would lose 2 wickets or 3 wickets before lunch if Rampaul fell straight away

There's always a chance they might do it! I'm going to head down this afternoon, should be interesting one way or the other!

Still plenty for the bowlers as Raine and Harte have shown. Pity Rushy's radar has gone,hopefully temporarily, but Carse clearly isn't as yet up to 1st team standard. A top class spinner would be an ideal acquisition but hardly a realistic one.Creating pressure by ALL bowlers by accuracy will prevent late wicket partnerships.

Yep. It's not as if they're bowling at top quality batsmen so if the bowling is accurate it'll result in a wicket- if the catch isn't dropped.

This might be over today- don't know how many overs are left because the scoreboard has a malfunctioning Fosters logo on it!
Another 100 runs might give us half a chance if conditions stay the same.

And that's what Derbyshire are doing this time around- 29 runs in 21 overs and there have been a couple of big swipes to try and release the pressure - connected with fresh air not the ball!

Big black clouds overhead and behind the pavilion. Don't think rain is forecast and the lights aren't on - not sure why not because it seems very gloomy to me...and that's not a comment on the score of 63 runs in 35 overs.

78/3 and you just wonder if there'll be a clatter of wickets now.
They looked relatively comfortable in defence but unable to score with any freedom so that suggests to me that a moderate target with plenty of overs left might not be too problematic. Although the new ball will be key- not that I'm suggesting these last 7 wickets will go down quickly.
