Article also repeats the claim by Stokes and Hales that they were acting in defence of a couple being subject to homophobic abuse.

Times is reporting the central contract awards, which were due to be announced on Wednesday, will be now deferred until the disciplinary commission have met. Presumably they can't do so until the criminal procedure has been completed. Police are appealing for the couple who were allegedly subject to homophobic abuse to come forward.

Sounds then as it may be a lengthy investigation that is almost certainly not going to be concluded prior to the Ashes unless an early decision is taken not to prosecute - and at this stage that seems unlikely.
