It's been warm and sunny all morning despite the forecast continuing to say that the chances of thundery downpours range from 71% - 96%

I've been down the allotment, cut the lawns all sorts, which is remarkable given the deluge that has been sweeping over CLS all day

On Friday night it seemed to be dry just outside of Chester-le-Street when the downpour was in progress at the Riverside.

Stokes and Carse getting the treatment. the others have been thoroughly miserly

I wonder by how much Yates is going to break his best ever FC score? It is the Durham way, after all

Good recovery from an ominous position. Could get them out for under 250 ...if the tail doesn't wag.

BBC scorecard says Eckersley has had a bowl even though he's listed as wickst keeper! Presumably an error unless something bizarre has happened!

According to Emmerson Eckersley handed over the keeping gloves to Bancroft and went to field in the covers! Suggests an injury so odd that he bowled.

Quite a collapse- 237 all out and it seems as if Eckersley took the gloves back. Very odd.
There are 7 overs to go and according to Martin Emmerson it's gloomy - could be very tricky, with a bit of luck bad light will end play!

Don't panic! Nightwatcher at the crease.
I always say that everybody's right.

Yes, particularly as he bowled ahead of Borthwick. Perhaps Borthwick sustained a finger injury in the blast, can bat but not bowl.

Could well be the case and would explain why he wasn't playing on Friday night.

Hardly go into the covers if you sustained an injury.

True. All very strange- must be funky captaincy to get the wicketkeeper to bowl an over!
There was an air of inevitability that we'd lose a wicket before the close, at least it was just one and it wasn't Bancroft. Been out and about so not seen any of the action, wonder why the 2nd new ball led to such a collapse.
