Amazingly Barker is out for 27. Salisbury again - get him signed up!!

Although the bad news is that Martin Emmerson says Barker never looked comfortable and that the ball is moving around a bit.
That sounds ominous for when we bat. It's usually disastrous even in good conditions.

8 down but Trott 150 not out and the usual lower order partnerships are taking the score towards 400. 391/8.

Finally all out for 424. Naturally Trott was unbeaten - 170 not out. It wouldn't surprise me if we get bowled out for under 170!
A day and a half of toil in the heat, scoreboard pressure and a very fragile batting lineup adds up to a potential disaster.

first 10 overs are key wit the pink ball. talk last year was the pink ball hooping for 10 overs and then going as flat as a pancake. We took 1 wicket with the hooping ball.... I wonder how many Mr it's Durham, so a match 10fer must be on the cards Barker will take?

definitely

have you noticed how many wickets Podmore has taken for Kent this season, after looking like a very average bowler when he had a trial with us last year?

Yep and I think he has scored some handy runs too.

Amazingly we have survived the first 10 overs without losing a wicket.

Just looked and Podmore is actually top of the Kent batting averages - misleading stat as he has only been out once in 6 innings ( or maybe that's a sign of his good batting !) He has a half century and I'm sure that was an important innings.
20 wickets at an average of 23.

Latham given out on 50 and "stunned" by the decision according to Martin Emmerson. He also said umpire Watts looked perplexed by his reaction!
