And that's carried forward into our final 4 games into the 2nd division. The average point score for each team you'd played in your conference is awarded i.e 19 for Essex and 4 for Durham. Essex therefore start with a 15pt over us initially before pts are gained in competition against our 4 new opponents.

Come off it. Fancy assuming common sense and logic where FTECB are concerned.
They've now dug themselves a bigger hole by announcing that they'll decide 'later' what points are to be awarded in the abandoned Derbyshire v Essex game.

That is eminently sensible, though.... by delaying that decision they can wait and see if Durham do something remarkable and complete a magnificent win over Notts to secure second spot in the group before awarding Essex any points.

In that eventuality, they could then award Essex the exact number of points necessary to leapfrog Durham for second place
