We'll have to have a plaque put up at the ground!

FTECB would rule that an unnecessary expense.

:lmao Yes, we'd probably get another points deduction!

only if we end up winning our first 2 games

Strauss puts the block on regional academies!.
FTECB have also appointed a national talent spotter to advise all regional areas. who's been recruited from the RFU. Must be reassuring for Geoff Cook knowing he has someone like that to go to for advice. You couldn't make it up. :d'oh:

Durhamfootman wrote:I bought my three T20 season tickets today ahead of the new season. My fears that they might try to limit me to 'named' season tickets didn't materialise and so I will be able to take whoever I like to the matches. Presumably some progress must have been made because I have a feeling that a few years ago that might well have been a problem

and indeed it is still a problem. I had the box office on the phone today asking me for the names of the other 2 season ticket holders. I explained that I want to be able to take a number of people to T20 matches to introduce them to the club and to the game, but the club tells me that a T20 season ticket is a form of membership and as such is non-transferable. Not sure how the corporate bods get tickets for matches.

they also said that they had been trying to get in touch with me 'for weeks' about this.... although how I am supposed to be aware of this, I have no idea, given that they have a withheld number and didn't leave any messages.

As things stand they are looking to see if there is a way to do this, in which case they will process payment, or if they can't I have instructed them to cancel it

It seems that no matter how stuck the club is for cash, and how poor the attendances are for T20 matches, it isn't possible to give them money and help improve attendances

I wonder what Sir Ian would make of that? I'm trying to help the club out... I don't even like T20... but it seemed like a good way to help

incidentally, I did explain all this when I first requested the tickets, so it isn't as if I trying to take the ssip.

Nor am I trying to rob them, or fiddle something... I'm just trying to give them £210 in a way that benefits both them and me

It's a ridiculous stance by the club. Totally counter productive and in any case they do not do ID checks so have no idea of knowing of the person presenting the card/ticket is actually the named ticket holder.

It could be that the T20 season ticket is the same type of swipe card as the membership card that replaced the old booklets. In that case they might just need any name to go on the card.
Your idea actually could benefit the club - if more than 3 people attend over a season then that's more exposure for the club. Seems ridiculous they'd be against it - probably some rules are rules job worth is to blame.

No one on a gate has ever asked for ID and there is no picture on any of the tickets so I wouldn't worry about not getting in on someone else's ticket.

Yes, they just automatically swipe the card. Might be an issue if a female attended with a male name card or vice versa but they probably don't even look at the names.
I know when it used to be membership books with the paper tickets I got into the habit of tearing out the ticket as I walked towards the gate and no one checked names or looked at the actual booklet.

Wouldn't dare challenge anyone on that in these PC transgender acceptance days. As to being more customer friendly I phoned the box office asking to contribute to the OWZTHAT lottery for funding the academy. They promised to pass my request to the revelant office who would contact me. I'm still waiting 6 months later.

So somethings never change then! The usual hopeless PR and customer relations. Making it hard to buy tickets and not bothering to follow up when someone offers to contribute to the lottery.
It does make me wonder if the failure to attract investors etc is as much to do with poor organisation and communication as lack of interest from investors themselves.

Ah, well........ sanity has prevailed. The box office have left me a message to say that it has been sorted out with a manager and I should receive the 3 season tickets shortly.

I'm not sure that I was asking for the earth, so I'm pleased they've sorted it out
