I thought that was odd too.
Apparently the Bancroft lbw was another poor decision from Umpire Pratf who is related to Andrew and Gary?
Bedingham gone now so any miniscule chance of a win have probably also gone.

Joey Evison who?

that must be the devastatingly blistering snarling fast bowler, hugely experienced with literally dozens of 5 fers to his credit
oops, 19 yo rookie, bowling medium paced wobblers with 2 matches and 2 wickets to his name prior to today

We continue our habit of finishing every campaign with underwhelming performances that suck the life out any hope we may have of improving on recent seasons

Just as well Worcs and Derbys are too far back, because on our recent run of form had they not been we'd probably be staring down the 3rd division barrel

and, of course, we can be asked to follow on, before the weather turns really good for batting again tomorrow

If only we'd won the toss and so had the opportunity to bat in all the good batting conditions and bowl in all the good bowling conditions

just wasn't meant to be, I suppose

Going to flog us over the top of the short boundaries until 6pm, grab a 300 run lead, get us 3 wickets down tonight and polish off the rest tomorrow before lunch

Borthwick saying that batting conditions at the Riverside are often dictated by overhead conditions and the short boundaries were designed to make it easier to get batting points. That surely makes the decision to bowl even more baffling given, as DFM mentioned, the conditions on day 1 and the forecast for the rest of the match.

Career best for Umpire Pratt.
Only way we'll get runs this afternoon is by chopping his arms off.

Yes! Even though the openers put on 50 I still have a feeling there's going to be a collapse.
