Arshad out of the preseason tour with yet another injury. The aim might well be to develop him into a T20 death bowler but 17 CC games in 4 seasons? In our parlous state he needs to step up in all forms

Well, pre-season isn't going too well. Single figure scores again for Latham and Cook in the Test and in the NvS game Jennings out for 15, Wood 7-0-45-0 and Coughlin 3-0-22-0.

There is a little group there now who came through the academy together who are approaching their mid 20s who really need to step up and not only play but perform as well. I would include Clark, Pringle and Coughlin with Arshad.
I have been a fan of Coggers since he was a teenager in the academy and I notice he has caught the eye of the national selectors but you have to say it is all on potential rather than actual performances.

Totally agree and ironically the relegation with the slightly lower standard of bowling may be just what they need to kick on. If so, thank you FTECB

Wood isn't playing in today's North v South match. Hopefully the decision was made not to have him play back to back patches and there are no injury concerns. :scared

And they're into the 37th over and Coughlin hasn't had a bowl yet.

Well if there are injury concerns they wouldn't admit it so we'd be none the wiser. Neither would it have been wise after 6 months out however to ask him to play 2 games in 3 days.
