According to The Times, Stokes is likely to be confirmed as test captain tomorrow provided the formalities are completed by then.
Article says he should play for us next week at New Road.

According to The Times one reason he is under consideration is because he - in the eyes of the ECB - has repaired relations between between themselves and Durham.
Clare Connor is interim CEO and possibly the favourite to succeed Harrison if she wants the job- personally I think that role could be a poisoned chalice!

Agree he's the only one of the 3 wise men who is even vaguely competent but he has been sucking up to FTECB since he took over at Durham. His very 1st quote when taking the Durham job was "We need to repair relationships with ECB" and at the close season forum said he was in favour of retaining the conference system despite that he ought to have been fully aware that that those "loyal Durham Defenders" we're vehemently against such a proposal.
He's looking after No 1 which I can't blame him, he has no particular allegiance to Durham, but that leaves Dumb and Dumber in charge of the shop. Frightening!

Aussie Nic Maddinson rumoured to be lined up to be Petersen's replacement.
Batter offering occasional left arm spin.

Interesting choice. I've heard the name but don't know anything about him -:decent FC record by the looks of it.

I know his name more from T20. From the little I do know, I think he might be quite an explosive batter. Probably a polar opposite of KP.

does the rumour suggest when he might be coming? I assume he wouldnt be able to play in the dribble.... or if he did, then it would have to be at the expense of Bedders

Coming after Aussie tour of Sri Lanka early July. Will miss T20, presumably here for RL50 and final phase of CC.

fair enough

That would be the part of the season when a quality spinner would be invaluable :facepalm

hey ho.... you can lead a couple of donkeys to water, but you can't make them drink. Perhaps it's too complicated? :horse

Yes but if we assume we'll see little more of both Lees and Potts both batting and bowling looks thin.Seems a bit premature to commit to commit to a 2nd overseas until we're clearer regarding availability of the above two.
I'm enroute to Lords at present..... but NOT Wembley.

Have a good trip!
Yes, it does seem a bit premature. Carse could well be involved with England in the later part of the summer too. It'd be a very pedestrian looking attack with neither him or Potts.
Trouble is the batting looks fragile without Lees and Petersen!
I think we must strengthen the squad for next season.
