of course if there is to be a forfeiture where we lose and Worcs win, that won't be true.... or will it?

no we won't, so maybe there won't be a forfeiture after all

if we contrive something we will deny ourselves 3 bowling points. If we get those and 8 points for a draw then Worcs won't overtake us even if they win

so I don't think we will be contriving anything and if we do, then we're *modded* crackers

seemingly in a 2 day game, the follow on target becomes 100 not 149, so Kent have to get to 260 to avoid the follow on

Impossible to tell for sure with no replays on the stream but both sides have had some pretty close looking appeals turned down.

I don't think we have! I actually might not make it, was going after lunch but am going to be delayed.

Hogg looked our most threatening seamer, getting the ball to nip sharply off the seam. He was unlucky to only pick up one wicket

Minto had to go around the wicket because he was struggling to get off the pitch in his follow through. He kept stepping right in front of the wicket with his left foot and the umps kept having a wander over to look at his foot marks. Something for Bunny to get his teeth into over the winter. Nathan Rimmington is still with us on the bowling staff, which i think I'd forgotten

I've just looked at the final wicket..... Ackers take a bow. pitched well outside off, turned and knocked over leg stump

If 350 waw the magic number in terms of finishing 5th, doesn't that mean neither side had anything to lose by setting up the game? Maybe there will be a twist but looks like a predictable bore draw atm.

Actually we're not as far ahead of Worcestershire & Warwickshire as I thought so a defeat could have moved us down to 6th.

the commos hadn't thought it through. I think they just assumed that the Worcs game would end in a draw. They didn't seem to consider the possibility of a Worcs win over Lancs. As it happens, with such a low scoring game, all three results are very definitely on, so our decision not to fiddle about with anything was absolutely correct imo

Yes, can't finish higher than 5th so may as well not take a risk.

A couple of quick wickets with both set batters gone. Almost certainly too late but if the last 4 go ASAP then there might be a tiny chance. Handshakes at 4.20 though is surely on the cards unless something extraordinary happens.
