How many points were Hampshire adrift at the start of August and has there been another escape (assuming Yorks win) like it since we've had two Divisions?

Maybe Sussex can pay Dominic Cork to dress in disguise and send him out this afternoon

Impressive chase from Hants. Well done to them.

I take it with Broad bowling the least of the overs from the seamers in both innings, he was under ECB orders?

He was the most uneconomical of the Notts bowlers in both innings.

Should have rested him and replaced him with two minor county cricketers instead..... I know what Sheffield United fans must have felt like now.

I was wondering about the younger Curran bowling back to back in this match I thought seventeen year olds had a maximum number of overs they can bowl in a day.

Assuming Hampshire stay up, then next season the first division will have 8 teams whose home base is a test venue. Somerset the odd one out.

A maximum of 7 overs per spell and 18 overs per day, must rest for 5 overs between spells. According to the cricinfo text commentary, Sam bowled a 9 over spell in the 1st innings.

Warwickshire showing how bad they can bat as they've done for the last 6 weeks. Making Tom Cooper, who's taken only 11 first class wickets, look like a world beater.

Sussex are not going to die without trying here.... three boundaries in a row.

I never understood this mentality. Your saving a season, Faf de Plessis!!! FAF DE PLESSIS!!!

That's a directive but clubs can breach that at their peril . It is a slightly ridiculous restriction if a player is playing at the higher levels of the game . For instance , County Academy players who are u 19 are covered and almost entirely comprise the bowling line up . When the opposition is comprised of adults that leaves the youngsters disadvantaged yet they probably play at county 2nd team level too . There does not seem to be any dispensation available to avoid the restriction without some form of discipline from ECB or their regional league execs
