Harder batting in D2 than D1. Good days for Essex, Sussex and Durham and ok starts for Somerset and Hants.

is this a kookaburra round, btw?

Very green pitch at Wantage road. Northamptonshire missing Sanderson and bowled som rubbish with the new ball. Came back well after lunch with Weatherall and Broad impressing but the morning combined with 3 drops meant Kent did OK. Ball moved for the entire innings. Kent opening bowlers much better. I would say 250 a decent score on this pitch. Dukes ball being used apparently.

Simpson hundred....

Such a shame for him this form is at the twilight if his career. He'd have a chance at a test cap if he was 24 and playing like this.

Hope Ben Geddes' nickname is Barbara. If anyone's heard of the Oscar nominated actor.

Start delayed at Trent Bridge. Looking out my window I can only assume it's too sunny.

Ton up for Tom Banton now.

TB delayed because of faulty sprinkler! Good news if it greens the pitch up for the DUrham bowlers.

just spotted this... thanks

I guess the clue to which ball was being used was that no team scored 800 in their first innings.... although Essex might

The umpiring standard in the CC is pretty poor at times.

Alex Davies given not out off Jaydon Seales... but ball moved about half a meter after passing the bat. Didnt just knick it, he middled it....

If you can't see that umpire, you shouldnt be standing there.
