I switched on 5LSX after work to listen to the cricket, and stumbled across 1st round action from the US Open. Not sure about the priorities there, especially since there wasn't a Britain playing.

Notts were always going to win it really.

Watched him closely yesterday and tends to play across the line to full deliveries. It was no problem yesterday but must be at risk to lbw with bowlers of greater pace.

He certainly impressed in test match cricket against South Africa during while Pietersen' served his light sentence, cf90. It'll take one of those seemingly established in the ODI top order to fail a few times for him to be considered again, though.

Didn't Pietersen make some veiled criticism of him on his (Taylor's ) debut?He made a cameo of 34 in that innings but only totalled 48 in 3 knocks.

There were rumours that KP undermined Taylor by making it clear he didn't rate him-no idea if there was any truth in that but there was a rather frosty twitter exchange between the two recently where KP tweeted something like ' bring back JT' with JT referring to John Terry, only for Taylor to 'deliberately' misunderstand the message & sarcastically reply with ' I didn't think you cared'. It resulted in a series of tweets between the 2 that may have been good humoured banter but seemed rather tetchy to me.

I think KP and Taylor get on fine.

Perhaps it was just friendly banter, can't always know for sure in twitter if comments are sarcastic or just good humoured, playful chatter.

Taylor did say in an interview that KP was helpful to him.

Taylor shouldn't just be thought about in odi's though..surely must be being considered for test cricket..?!

Must be the next in line in both. Should go to SL and play in all the games.

Heck, I didn't know Ryder played for Essex. Are they missing Panesar's antics or something?
