Patterson gets Lawrence to bring up a 5-fer. Essex in need of a miracle.

124 for Brook in a game where no one else made over fifty is the key here.

Benco- three wickets in 11 deliveries for no runs.

KJ's first ton for the Red Rose.

The gods of the jinx are making me pay for my hubris. A whole eight runs added so far for the ninth wicket.

But what's this... six for Patto and it's all over.

If only the home game hadn't been rained out....

Should be a win for Notts against highly fancied Hants today. A mixed start to the season for both sides. In fact, for most sides.

thank goodness he was presented with a flat deck that everyone was scoring tons off, otherwise he might have gone the way of Hameed

Marsh called up for the Aussie squad. Not part of my FL or Glam's plans! Still haven't worked out whether he'll miss more CC or one day stuff.

Still can't believe we lost having bowled a side out for 50 in first innings! *modded* awful!

Highlights suggested morning conditions was brilliant for seam bowling - sunshine and moisture rising up from the pitch is a leathful condition, so much late swing and movement from Coad and Patterson.

Superb comeback from Yorkshire, but that's what it all was. Gale might have played his get out of jail card well, but he has yet to address the batting woes. Small matter on which batsman to drop for Surrey, because no way anyone can go to The Oval with just four frontline bowlers. Though I have a dreaded feeling Root and Lyth will act as combined 5th bowler, where I would want to see Carver play and turn his arm.

Joe Root is captaining Yorkshire in the absence of ZBGB (illness). Alex Lees (not in the squad) and Jack Leaning are back. Josh Shaw comes in for Benco. No spin for Yorks at the Oval. A bit of an oversight. Yorks elect to bowl first.

Surrey 24-2 so working so far. Brooks and Tim with the wickets. Good to see no Sanga coming in these days.
