I might be way off the mark here, but I just have this feeling that McKinney will be opening with Duckett in the Zimbabwe test

Selection that fits the Rob Key "wants to look clever" type pick. McKinney seems to be the new thing everyone is talking about, and he did score for the Lions in OZ, but I'd rather him get a chance to prove himself consistently in county cricket before being lumped into the national team after half a season.

it's a bit early in the season for a must win, but it's definitely a mustn't lose game

Durham have a 22 man senior squad which includes Stokes and Wood who will not feature for us this season and Sowter who is T20 only

so of the 19 remaining, 7 are out injured, 1 has moved upstairs and 1 seems to be missing, presumably with the clubs knowledge.... oh and includes 2 spinners, only one of which will play at any one time..... so effectively 9 players remaining of which at least 2 are completely out of nick

A somewhat sub-optimal start to the season and they will need to sit down and work out what the hell happened, how much of it was self inflicted and what lessons are there to be learned for next season
