well... Leics on the cusp of beating Lancs, so we could have been 3 points clear at the top if Tahir had turned up

Typical. That must have been an exceptional innings from Nabi. I thought Leics had no chance at all , yet another astute prediction. :facepalm

of course FTECB will likely drop Jennings and Buttler for the second test, just so they can turn out for Lancs against us

On the absence of spinner Imran Tahir from his final scheduled appearance with the Jets, Lewis explained: “Imran is off to the airport after this game to play in the CPL so he wasn’t on the team bus and needed to drive down with all his baggage.

“He made a bit of a miscalculation on his timings and didn’t take into account the traffic on the M1 so he just didn’t make the start time and we couldn’t take the gamble of going into the start of a game with 10 players on the team-sheet.”

Someone could make a joke about Durham often effectively playing with 10 men ( or maybe fewer!) but not me!

No announcement from the club about a Tahir replacement so presumably there isn't going to be one.

Someone of his quality is irreplaceable. Short term locus have largely been a disaster so can't say I'm too disappointed. Ben Whitehead might surprise us-in a good way.
Encouraging is Tahir tweeted something about looking forward to returning

Scott Steel- think he's one who has done very well lately for the seconds?

Good point. Probably not many top players available - they're either already here of at the CPL.

Onions is in the Lancs squad and so too is their new overseas signing - Zahir Khan, 19 year old spinner from Afghanistan. Probably a boy wonder so has the potential to cause absolute chaos.

Won the toss and are batting. Smith and Colly are back- no Pringle and Onions isn't playing for Lancs.

And he's threatening to - 2 wickets including Colly just now for 26. 81/4 after 12 although big boundaries and a slow pitch.
This is where our suspect looking middle order might falter.
