A much better final session with the ball and Carse was looking dangerous. Should go on to win this but it might be hard work!

I saw the score at lunch and figured we'd probably declare then. 544 seems excessive, so perhaps it's the novelty value of actually scoring heavily that kept us going.

Northants are all over Worcester, Gloucs are very much in charge against Derby, but Glammy are getting a right kicking off Lancs and Middlesex are under the pump against Sussex.

Northants dropped a batting point, so if we can win against Leics, and not do anything daft like drop a bowling point tomorrow, we could well be joint 3rd by Wednesday night

Although only Leics and probably (surprisingly) Worcester are out of the race atm. Going to be a tight finish to the season, I reckon

Unusual wicket takers for us today....... not what I expected to see when I looked at the details of the scoresheet

we scored 159 runs in the afternoon session yesterday

our next 3 matches are all against close rivals for promotion, of course. Although it's so close atm, that that would be true whoever we had to play
