Can't go from 51 after 4 overs to 81 after 11 overs and expect to get away with it

It's what I expected really (although I hoped for more). We've said right the way through the tournament that we just don't score enough runs. A few times this season our bowling has saved us, but can't do anything with a 140 runs. 150 -160, perhaps.

still...... we've learned that with the right bowlers (ie not Coughlin) we don't have to score 200 to stand any chance of winning as has so often been the case in the past.

we've learned the value of a quality T20 specialist... just shame we couldn't keep him... or get him to the park on time (if we don't lose that close defeat to Worcs, we finish top of the group and get Gloucs who were spluttering to the QF's and not Sussex who were tearing pitches up to get there)

we learned the financial value of a having a successful campaign rather than an embarrassing one

Yep. I agree. It was a better campaign than we could have hoped for despite a shocking display tonight.
I think Colly may be at the end of the road and also agree with westoelad about Rimmington. Very poor.

I see no reason why we can't win 3 of our remaining 5 CC matches and finish strongly. We won't beat Warks and we won't beat Sussex, but Northants (h), Leics (a) and Middlesex (h)... why not?

Yep. A strong finish would make it a decent season overall. At the very least it'll show us where we need to strengthen ahead of next year. I wonder if we'll play what we consider the strongest 11 or maybe try a few more youngsters ?

Yeh, top set of lads at Sussex especially Dizzy and Wright.
Not sorry we are out as it means we can focus without distraction on CC in prep for next season. Blood Harte, Davies and Scott Steele to see if they're good enough. If not there are plenty of other counties rejects good enough as Lees and Salisbury have proven. Obviously we aren't going down the Kolpak route.
